Product Information: Coóng Xại (Teochew Salted Mustard Greens)

Coóng Xại (also known as Salted Mustard or “Cải Tiều”) is a renowned specialty of the Teochew (Chaozhou) people. It is an essential part of the culinary heritage in regions such as Bac Lieu, Soc Trang, and Cho Lon (Ho Chi Minh City).

The name “Coóng Xại” originates from the Teochew dialect. Premium green mustard leaves are sun-wilted and then meticulously cured with signature ingredients:

• Sea Salt: For preservation and a balanced savory base.

• Granulated Sugar: To balance the flavor and support natural fermentation.

• Rice Wine: Enhances the aroma and maintains a long-lasting crispness.

• Galangal (The Secret Ingredient): Shredded galangal provides a warm, aromatic fragrance and gives the mustard greens its distinctive, attractive golden-brown color.

1. Instructions for Use

• Ready-to-eat: Open the jar and serve immediately.

• Culinary Ingredient: Perfect as a base or topping for various traditional and modern stir-fry dishes or soups.

2. Storage & Shelf Life

• At 25°C to 28°C: 1 year from the date of manufacture. Keep away from direct sunlight.

• Frozen ≤ -18°C: 2 years from the date of manufacture.

• Note: Refrigerate immediately after opening if not consumed entirely.

• Warning: Do not use if the product is expired, has an unusual odor, or if the packaging seal is broken.
